That's right: I don't have a Microsoft Windows machine. Also, I do not
desire to gain expertise in that environment. And that's OK, since
porting to MS-Windows is not a goal of the GNU project.
To address the porting problem, you (or someone else with expertise and
time) could step up and write a patch that addresses it in a way that
does not significantly impede the main goal here. I can't help much with
that effort, since I lack time, expertise, and motivation.
