GNU ed is an 8-bit clean, more or less POSIX-compliant implementation of
the standard Unix line editor.

This version is also available in lzip format. If your distro doesn't
yet distribute the lzip program, you can download it from
http://www.nongnu.org/lzip/lzip.html
Changes in this version:
* Ed now shows the "Try 'ed --help' for more information." message if
a invalid option is given in the command line.
* Quote characters in messages have been changed as advised by GNU
Coding Standards.
* Configure option "--datadir" has been renamed to "--datarootdir" to
follow GNU Standards.
