Hi,

With cp (4.0 - RedHat) I'm seeing the -x (stick to one file system) flag
fail to work if invoked as "cp -ax / /mnt/tmp" (also fails as "cp -a -x" and
as "cp -a --one-file-system"), however it does work when invoked "cp -xa
/ /mnt/tmp". This order dependence is not noted in the man page or help
screen. Is this just something everyone is supposed to learn by trial and
error? Or do I just have a weirdly jinxed copy of cp? If it is a general
problem it should be fixed since it can lead to unintentionally filling a
partition (it even created /mnt/tmp/mnt/tmp... on me).

Not subscribed to this list, curious what the problem is if you'd cc me.

Thanks,
