max filesize dd

Hello,
I tried to copy a 3 gigabyte hd to another hd, to make a image from the 3
gb hd. I user dd version: [dd (GNU fileutils) 4.0] (whitch comes
with redhat 6.1). The maximal filesize
is 2 gigabyte! Do you know if a newer version of dd doesn't have this size
limit?
