Per your exhortations on gnu.utils.bug, I downloaded and built
fileutils-4.0.32. Last night on my x86 Linux box, I believe I had no
difficulties, but today at work, I observed the following failure on
both SunOS-4.1 and 5.5:
PASS: special-1
../../../../../src/fileutils-4.0.32/tests/mkdir/perm: test: argument expected
FAIL: perm
PASS: parents
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need any more detail.
