Hallo James,
When following build-instructions from README-CVS, currently,
gnulib/m4/Makefile.am is not created by import-gnulib.sh anymore,
causing autoreconf to fail.
Did you accidently comment out it's creation while committing the
unsetting of CDPATH? (cvs annotate/log seem to indicate as much.)
