Details:
These errors occur if various tools are not in /bin and are not in /usr/bin:
FAIL: exists1: updatedb is supposed to be silent,
.../findutils-4.5.11-git/locate/testsuite/../updatedb: line 263: rm: command
not found
.../findutils-4.5.11-git/locate/testsuite/../updatedb: line 312: chmod:
command not found
.../findutils-4.5.11-git/locate/testsuite/../updatedb: line 313: mv: command
not found
Other similar errors also occur in later tests.
It looks like this is caused by the direct assignment of PATH in pudatedb.sh.
That assignment has been in the source tree since at least the initial
revision we can now see:
