Summary: [wishlist] give find a "secure" or "safe" option Group: findutils Submitter: None Submitted: Thu 18 Apr 2024 01:36:17 PM UTC Category: find Severity: 3 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: John Devitofranceschi Originator Email: j...@yahoo.com Open/Closed: Open Release: 4.6.0 Discussion Lock: Any Fixed Release: None _______________________________________________________ Follow-up Comments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu 18 Apr 2024 01:36:17 PM UTC By: Anonymous This is a "wishlist" item. The 'top' command has a "secure" command line option (-s) I think that it would be useful for find to also have a secure or safe option. This option would inhibit potentially destructive or system/file altering actions (eg, prevent -ok* -fprint* -exec* -delete, etc) This would be useful to simplify the specification of "read-only" find execution via 'sudo' and similar privilege escalation tools. jd _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?65609> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
