hi all.
I have solaris 2.7 on sparc:
> uname -a
SunOS myserver.mydomain.com 5.7 Generic_106541-08 sun4u sparc
SUNW,Ultra-5_10
with a 64-bit kernel:
> isainfo -v
64-bit sparcv9 applications
32-bit sparc applications
but when I run gdb 4.18 on any program compiled by gcc 2.95.2 I get the
following error:
(gdb) r
Starting program: /development/my_buggy_program
/proc/07119: Value too large for defined data type.
open_proc_file: PIOCSTATUS failed
I tried using gdb from the package available on sunfreeware, from the
source, and from a recent snapshot of gdb, but I experienced the same
problem each time. I haven't set up this system in any particularly
unique way, and I am surprised that I can't find documentation about
this issue in the oracle faq or on any newsgroups. Does anyone have
any insight into this? I would really appreciate it.
thanks,
Braxton
