Sorry gdb 5.0 on linux 2.2.18
The threads-debugging code in GDB 5.0 has serious problems. Most of
these should be fixed in the upcoming GDB 5.1. A first pre-release is
scheduled for the coming week. Please consider checking whether the
bug is solved. See http://sources.redhat.com/gdb for more information.
Alternatively you could send me a small self-contained programs that
exposes the bug.
