Follow-up Comment #4:
Commit 06428c53 fixes this bug — it checks if a parent directory of a
mkdir-parent path can be seen as directory (file-status with appended '/'
works), and then refrains from deleting that link.
So I close that bug (fixed), and thanks for reporting.
