Unix like systems can use configure and friends. That's the law! Ian Shaw and I are working on a windows building system. Hopefully our effort can make a "standard" way of building GNU Backgammon with GNU tools on Win32. We will report the result here. I believe Jon (and Holger and Ingo) are using MSVC for thier development.
