I get about 4 times better than non direct, 435.200 FPS. Perhaps I am
still missing something.
Perhaps whatever is going wrong with the fonts (ftgl) is slowing things
down. Try building without ftgl (you'll need the glut library for a simple
font replacement). If you have trouble with that, just turn off the point
labels and comment out the drawdcnumbers call in drawdc() (or just disable
the cube).
