The 6700xl is a new card, it's a bit obscure but should be fine. Make sure you have the latest drivers for this card. If you have the "quick draw" option selected, turn this off as this could cause the problems you're having. If none of that works, turning down the hardware acceleration will get the 3d board working (but slower), this is in the "display properties->settings->advanced->trouble shoot" windows dialog. Fiddling with other settings for your graphics card might fix it too. Jon Off topic: You can change between 2d and 3d mode with the view menu. .
