I tried these exact steps on the latest release on the website for Windows,
and I compiled the latest version (CVS) for OS/X.  The cube as you suggest
starts on the right after editing the cube position but at least for me,
when I change to playing counterclockwise the cube IS moved to the left side
(You say yours remains on the right). When I go an edit it again I click on
the cube on the left side and the cube edit window shows up as I would
expect.
