Hi Paul,
Here's a couple of suggestions to try:
For piece selection, try making the window bigger, removing the panels on the
right or trying the full screen mode.
To convince yourself gnubg isn't cheating select the manual dice option and roll
the dice rolls yourself (for both sides).
