Hi All,

After spending some time on many platforms this week I will admit I am not a fan of the auto save settings. There are still some bugs (Switching between 3d and 2d, the view/panels view/tool bar settings) don't auto save. Some settings save twice (not a big deal in most cases), but one big one is that if I resize windows and move thing around I have to go out of my way to find an option that does save so that I can get window/panel size/pos changes to. Sometimes I even forget and find the layout changed the next time I return.

I understand why Save Settings was removed - I have seen some of the complaints. The advantage the old way was that I had control over when things saved and there was no guessing. I could go an entire session with changes made and then undo it all just by exiting.

I was thinking of fixing the things that were not auto saving but got to feeling - I'd personally fix it by reverting it all back ;-) .

I'm just not sure that the way we have implemented is better than what it was before. I am curious about other people's opinion on this. I figure I am in the minority on my feelings about this.

Michael
