It *doesn't* happen if the near side player is on roll (skip step 4). If I change the player on roll and generate this ID: OJ9BAFpsN8SAUA:EQHgAEAAIAAE, and attempt to paste it back in edit mode the same thing occurs. Same behavior in 2D and 3D mode.
