a further point:
Imagine at the same time your checker is hit and the board closed and you don't 
have cube access. If the level of play is low the computer move times are fast 
and the whole game is like "fast forward", You don't see why you can't move, 
why you stay on the bar, why you don't hit the blot etc.

This is asking for cheating/illegal move etc complains.

So at least if a roll of the dice is possible where you can move it must be 
shown. So only a closed board where you don't have cube access is the only 
situation where it makes really sense.
