Please Help I used to play backgammon maybe 25 years ago. I had Snowie then and it was my go to resource for analyzing positions. I am starting to play again, but no longer have Snowie. That is why I have been trying very hard to obtain a copy of GNU Backgammon.
I downloaded info that I thought would provide me with the GNU program. It supposedly contained the data that I needed to input in terminal mode on my iMac PC that would then let me run the install program and then I would have it. It required X Quartz already installed and a later version of my OS (I was running Sierra). So I replaced Sierra with Catalina and downloaded X Quartz. I then installed what I thought was GNU. My PC indicated at that point that it was there. I soon found that it was not there, that X Quartz was no longer applicable, and that I had not the slightest idea as to how to use Quartz in the process. I am totally lost and would greatly appreciate your helpa. I have no other resource and if I am to learn and improve my game I really need a quality program like GNU or Snowie to scenario test and provide accurate direction as to the best moves for each play. I recognize the time that you might require to help me and I am willing to pay you for your time. I ask you to ignore my previous email which somehow was filled with gibberish. Please contact me ASAP at: [email protected] (845) 453-2553 Thanks for your time.
