Could you clarify what you monitored and how you deduced the dice rolls were not from random.org ? Do you mean the rolls don't match the numbers generated by random.org ? The connection is using https, so it is difficult to verify from the outside what was pulled from there. Or do you mean the connection is not to random.org ? If I try to use it as RNG, Immediately after that, I can see that a connection to this site had been established: > netstat -4W Active Internet connections Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address (state) tcp4 0 0 192.168.42.5.15895 104.20.45.7.https TIME_WAIT On the other hand, www.random.org apparently doesn't have reverse DNS records. That's why one sees its address instead of its name in the above output. > host www.random.org www.random.org has address 104.20.45.7 www.random.org has address 104.20.44.7 www.random.org has IPv6 address 2606:4700:10::6814:2d07 www.random.org has IPv6 address 2606:4700:10::6814:2c07 > host 104.20.45.7 Host 7.45.20.104.in-addr.arpa not found: 3(NXDOMAIN) > host 104.20.44.7 Host 7.44.20.104.in-addr.arpa not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
