In my understanding, it's a bug in Autoconf: <https://savannah.gnu.org/support/?110425> The workaround is to set CC="/usr/bin/gcc-4.2 -std=gnu99" instead of CC="/usr/bin/gcc-4.2", before running configure. Bruno
