I haven't used vc-dwim much, but use vc-chlog from the same repository
frequently. It will generate a ChangeLog from 'git diff' (or equivalent
for other version control systems), and will get function names correct
most of the time.

I prefer it to 'add-change-log-entry', etc. that can be used in Emacs.
