Because there was (never is) a standard-way how apple got the Name of
an iPod.
Sometimes they used the filesystem label, somethimes they used the name
of the first (hidden) playlist.
To set a name yourself, use the '--ipod-name' option of mktunes.pl or
add an entry to your ~/.gnupodrc:
mktunes.ipod-name = foo
--
RFC 1925:
(11) Every old idea will be proposed again with a different name and
a different presentation, regardless of whether it works.
