With gnu-gnu-gnu-xgps,
1- click on a menu item which has a submenu not detached.
--> the submenu is opened, and
the clicked menu item is highlighted.
2- right click in a window of the application so as to make the main menu
appear. You may either select an item or not, it does not matter.
Upon releasing the right mouse button,
--> the "pop-up" menu correctly disappears, and
the menu item clicked in step 1 is unhighlighted.
3- click again on the same menu item as in step 1.
--> the already open submenu is redisplayed, and
the clicked menu item is highlighed.
a) I think that a clicked menu item should not remain highlighted, but
I may be wrong, that's been a long time since I used NeXTSTEP;
WindowMaker keeps the menu item highlighted while the sub menu is
open and attached. Note that the menu item title is displayed in
the title bar of the submenu.
b) When a menu item that has an submenu open and attached to the menu
of the item is clicked, the submenu should disappear. That is,
c) When the submenu is detached, the menu item behaves properly, not
staying highlighted and opening then closing its submenu, but the
submenu does not get displayed before the second click.
