There have been no changes to the connection registration code that I know of
- and certainly nothing to do with being root. It still works fine on my
RedHat 6.1 system (as of a few minutes ago).

WM focus handling related - but Adam added a hack to prevent this happening a
while back - and I haven't seen it with any GNUstep apps since - though I
have seen it with netscape a couple of times. However ... I've been very busy
on other stuff for some weeks and haven't been using GNUstep gui apps - so I
may just have missed seeing the problem because of that.
