As far as I know, editing for RFT and non-rich text is implemented with exactly the same code, which is either working or not working. So there should be no visible differences for those cases. And remember that non-rich text might still have any possible attributes, it is just that the whole text will have the same attributes. What I want to say is, that we are doing a lot better than you think. Text displaying and editing is still slow (so is most of the rest of GNUstep gui), but it is usable and improving.
