Follow-up Comment #2, bugs #11936 (project gnustep):
As I do not have access to OSX machine i can not test the behaviour there.
Anyway, I think that it is obvious, that when I swith to another application
I am surely finished with the editing of the text view - regardles of
notifications being posted by any other object. In fact, from users point of
view, I am moving focus from the text view to another view.
