Summary: Spellchecking should fall back to a valid dictionary Project: GNUstep Submitted by: rburns Submitted on: Sun 06/05/2005 at 03:08 Category: Gui/AppKit Severity: 3 - Normal Item Group: Change Request Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open _______________________________________________________ Details: If for example, I have NSLanguages set to Japanese, trying to spellcheck any document will result in a dialog saying there is no Japanese dictionary. It gives the disctinct impression that I won't be able to spell check my English (or otherwise) file. But, if you open the spelling panel, and select AmericanEnglish, it will work fine. Would it be better to fall back to an installed dictionary, if one for the selected language is not present? I think it would be better if this happened automatically, rather than presenting a dialog that the user would have to click 'ok' to dismiss. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?func=detailitem&item_id=13299> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-gnustep mailing list Bug-gnustep@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-gnustep
