Follow-up Comment #2, bug #13770 (project gnustep):

The real "gist" of this bug is that the current selection isn't shown in the
toolbar when the user selects one of the buttons.  It should be possible to
create a subclass of NSToolbar in Gorm to show the current selection in a way
that satisfies this.

One of the reasons the toolbar was used is that, eventually, the plan is to
have a more plugin based architecture in Gorm.  This will allow the user to
add new items to the document window's toolbar using the "toolbar palette"
(see NSToolbar documentation).  The tabview lacks this functionality.

In any event, this is a post 1.0 change, if/when it's done.
