Follow-up Comment #4:
Since this patch was broken, I wrote new code to do what the patch intended,
and change colons in hyperlinks to dollars in the html documentation.
As far as I can tell the new version does not break anything and (presumably)
the problem this patch was intended to address therefore no longer exists.
