Most of this looks reasonable. Do you know why latex.make does
not work? Is there a particular command we can focus on, or is

Also, why are you using SHARED_LD_POSTFLAGS in gnustep-back? That
flag is only used when linking libraries AFAIK, so it shouldn't be
doing anything. And also -lgnustep-gui should already be in the
GNUmakefiles in the proper variables.
Totally useless indeed. Probably the remains of an earlier version.

BTW, what do these warnings mean ? Are tehy harmless ? Can they be
avoided ?
