Follow-up Comment #1, bug #20057 (project gnustep):
I have a work-around. After either [aTextField setFrameRotation: anAngle] or
[aTextField setFrame: aRect] add a dummy bounds rotation [aTextField
setBoundsRotation: [aTextField boundsRotation]]
