Follow-up Comment #3:
This is fixed in svn ... a bug in the keepalive mechanism (added to allow
daemons on mswindows to close themselves down when no longer in use) was
dropping the connection to the distributed notification server, and the
fswatcher was shutting itsself down when it detected the dropped connection.
