After try with many combinations, I found the problem. If you set on System Preferences

first Control = Left Alt
second Control = Right Alt

You get the following problem:

Open GORM, add a new window and a new button. Select the button and then in the Inspector select the choice size. Select any field, and then try to change the content. If you try to delete the value with Backspace, don't work.. If you try to write for example, 1 the choice Attributes is selected. Select other window, and then back to the Inspector, now is possible change the value in the fields (if not, select other window, and then back to the Inspector).

This problem occurs in other apps but is slightly frequent.

I solved the problem with:

first Control = Left Control
second Control = Right Control

Your problem is obviously that you had an alt key configured as a control key, and that key was being 'stuck down'
It could be a physical keyboard fault
Maybe it could be an X window manager setting/fault (I'm not sure what ca come between the physical keyboard and the events getting to the gui). It could be a fault in gnustep-gui ... but I can't reproduce your problem, so it seems less likely).
but it couldn't really be a fault in Gorm.
