Hello!
I derived an IceCat ebuild from that of Firefox. It's in the "sping"
overlay which can be added through running
$ sudo layman -a sping
The files are up here [1].
I had to add two patches of which I assume the first to be
suitable for upstream application. The second is curing
symptoms downstream not causes.
1) Firefox leftover?
sed -i 's|\$(DIST)/bin/firefox|\$(DIST)/bin/icecat|' \
browser/app/Makefile.in
2) Use system's xulrunner
sed -i 's|defaults/pref/|defaults/preferences/|' \
browser/installer/packages-static
