This doesn't work for either 11 or 12. Through the history of Firefox
the support has been sporadic as you can see here:

Because of this we are now use ~/.mozilla/icecat
Trisquel's Abrowser uses ~/.mozilla/abrowser
and Iceweasel uses ~/.mozilla/firefox
So using another app basename is something well supported and that will
be well supported in the future. You can try rename the
with-app-basename to something different like ~/.mozilla/gnuzilla/ and
that would work.
