I believe the major obstacle is that each time I come and say "yeah, I'll
make a release soon" and then fail to do it. I apologize for that.

I have a really good excuse today: I'll be working for Red Hat from Feb 1,
and I hope that I'll be able to work on grep during my work hours.
(A side note: I'm sure that if they decide to sponsor grep this way, this
won't skew the maintainership--in the time assigned for GNU grep, I'll do
things which GNU grep really needs.)

To sum up: please give me two or three weeks, then you should see a
pre-release; it should be on alpha.gnu.org and submitted to the translation
project. One or two months later we can make a regular release.
(I'm the official maintainer, thus I can send tarballs to
{ftp,alpha}.gnu.org.)

If I fail to keep _this_ promise, I should really resign.

Sorry,
        Stepan Kasal
