Which are not worth having? For what reason? > * The site says "This project (grep) requires FSF copyright > assignments from the authors." Ah, yes, I'd forgotten about that. > I need to check whether it is really necessary, Yes it is, the FSF is very strict about this. The copyright assignment doesn't have to be specifically for grep, though: it is enough if the author of a grep translation has signed a copyright assignment for any translation. > I don't know if I can do that myself, If the indications on http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/ about disclaimers are authorative, then yes, you can check that yourself. Taking just the first (af), http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/translation/registry.cgi?team=af shows that Petri Jooste is the author of the grep translation (it's inside the po file), and he has signed a disclaimer. So this one can be included. I'll check all the others as well. > * The translations are based on grep v2.5.1a; we ought to post a > release candidate for the current code and see if we get some > more up-to-date translations. Yes, but that should come after importing the currently available translations first: it saves the translators the hassle of having to merge their current translations into the new pos, the 'make dist' will do that for them.
