Hi,
I reported bug 17457 a few months ago :
when using -r and redirect output to a file in current directory, an
infinite loop can occur, and output file can grow endlessly. Actually I
don't known what happens when there is no more place on file system, and
I don't want to try that.

I was lucky enough that when this happened to me, command was given from
a command line, and I had time to understand something went wrong and I
could kill grep process. But it's not unreasonable to imagine that this
problem could arise from a script in a cron for example. Therefore, it
could happen that a server is made out of service because of that.

So, I'd like to suggest to mention that problem in the know bugs in a
future release of grep

regards,
arno.
