I am pleased to announce that Jim Meyering and Paolo Bonzini have been appointed as co-maintainers of GNU grep.
Jim and Paolo have been involved in various GNU projects for many years and they bring a lot of expertise to the project. In the past couple of weeks, they made several long-over-due updates to grep that brings it closer to the latest best practices in the GNU world in terms of package management. Summary of updates: 1. convert repository to git 2. remove intl directory 3. make "make distcheck" pass 4. rename autogen.sh to bootstrap with several updates 5. cleaned up m4/ directory They are now making a series of "gnulibification" updates. Thanks, Jim and Paolo, and welcome aboard!
