Can someone state definitively?
POSIX says it affects [[=a=]b] and [[.ch.]]. Perhaps someone can give them a try, to see whether that works? At least, it's *supposed* to work.... It requires a locale that has nontrivial equivalence classes and collating symbols, to check. If it works, then we can document it; if not, then we can document *that*.
