Thanks, but I'm hoping that a simpler patch is possible in that area. 
It is unfortunately that this part of the code calls dfaexec in 4 places 
and dfahint in 3.  Surely we can simplify it so that it calls dfahint in 
one place, and dfaexec in one place -- or, if that's two ambitious, at 
least we should cut the complexity down somewhat.
