I can't reproduce this on git HEAD. Bertrand changed @MACRODIR@ and similar
autoconf variables to use SHORT_VERSION instead of AC_PACKAGE_VERSION. On my
system, that seems to help with the absurdly long paragraph tags when an
installed groff filespec is the tag.
Can you still reproduce this?
