I think this should be rejected.
Making the build of a totally unmaintained component more verbose is
detrimental and distracting. If somebody wants to pick up maintenance of
these macros and also takes care of the resulting noise in the build log, all
the better, but not as long as nobody is working on this stuff.
Any objections to closing this ticket as "Invalid"?
