Is there a reason why there is separate logic in the configure script from
that used in BuildFoundries.pl? In commit
f61c6ca5b84b488cbd324f2d23285fff1d807f04 a facility to do a dry run search was
added to BuildFoundries.pl, which could be used. See bug #56748
