The foregoing addition is fantastic and I have no quarrel with it. The ambiguous .po sentence reported in comment #0 remains in place (substantively unchanged from its commit af2d6f8e <http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/groff.git/commit/?id=af2d6f8e> debut in 1999), so this bug could be reopened on those grounds.
