solution to the ".if t" problem raised in comment #4, this bug's mitigating
commit (comment #9) should now be able to be selectively applied to only
terminal devices. That is, lines that that commit commented out should be
able to be placed behind ".if \n[fallbacks*troff-mode]" tests instead.
