Follow-up Comment #1, bug #61062 (project groff):
[http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/groff.git/tree/m4/groff.m4 m4/groff.m4] has
changed enough since this patch was put forward that it no longer applies.
I've attached an updated patch.
I don't know enough (i.e., anything) about the build system to comment on the
patch.
