I have two gripes here. One is the warnings about failing to create fonts for
"Foundry ''", firstly that they happen at all in build and secondly that the
last part of the message looks like we somehow screwed up the diagnostic. One
bit of my massive changes (which I never pushed) attempts to address that.
However, that need not be gating on resolving this ticket (or _gropdf_ `SS`
support), if what's happening is what I think it is, which is that this
`cp`ing of files around to get make(1) prerequistes satisfied is frustrating
the flexibility of Automake to work with both in- and out-of-tree builds.
As a rule, a file should be either (a) shipped with the distribution archive
or (b) generated by the build, not sometimes one or the other depending on
whether you're doing an in- or out-of-tree build.
I think I know what to do about this. Will advise.
And I'll also look at SSv2.patch.
